Kalama School District will be returning to a Wednesday scheduling practice that was the norm prior to a change a few years ago: early release instead of late start.
The reason the district is returning to this practice for the 2021-2022 school year is because early release has proven to be a more effective model for teacher training and learning.
As a result of this change, start and end times for the ‘21-’22 school year will be as follows:
Regular Schedule:
Elementary: 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Secondary (6-12): 8:40 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.
Early Release Schedule (1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month):
Elementary: 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Secondary (6-12): 8:40 a.m. - 1:10 p.m.
