Kalama Elementary School student Benji Christensen was recognized as Kalama School District’s Student of the Month during the Kalama School Board meeting on Monday, December 16, 2024.
In nominating Benji for the recognition, the 2nd grader was praised by KES teacher Bridget Beck for his leadership and supportive attitude.
“Benji comes to school everyday with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and help,” said Beck during the board meeting. “His level of responsibility goes beyond just being a second grader. I know I can give Benji a task and it will be completed well and on time. I have assigned him some ongoing tasks that he is in charge of because I know he will be able to do it right and consistently without reminders.”
Beck added that Benji is always willing to offer help to other students when they need it, and complimented the second grader on his reading and math skills, and ability to solve real world problems.
