Kalama Elementary School student Alice Cash was honored as Kalama School District’s Student of the Month during the Kalama School Board meeting on Monday, April 28, 2025.
Alice, who is in Kindergarten, was nominated by her teacher for her willingness to work hard, growth in reading, and positive character.
“[Alice] follows all of the Kalama expectations effortlessly and displays all the character traits we teach at the elementary school,” said Principal Billina Dolezal. “Her teacher, Mrs. Trevino, says that Alice works really hard in class. She went from not wanting to read, to reading as much as she can – and enjoying it!”
“Alice is a great friend and helper,” wrote Trevino in her nomination of Alice. “She will often volunteer to help a kiddo in need without being asked. I can trust her to make good choices when no one is around. Alice is a great kiddo!”
Another Kalama Elementary School educator, Mr. Newton, said that Alice actively listens and participates even when things don't go as planned.
“Alice has a fun and positive attitude in class,” he wrote in his nomination. “She is respectful to teachers and classmates, and always gives her best effort.”
Congratulations on a well-deserved recognition, Alice!
