Kalama Elementary School student Eli Rosgen was recognized as Kalama School District’s Student of the Month during the Kalama School Board meeting on Monday, March 24, 2025.
In nominating Eli for the recognition, the 5th grader was praised by his teachers for being a good friend to his peers, and for consistently demonstrating perseverance and a can-do attitude.
“Eli is a very responsible and caring student,” said Tiffany Fechter, Kalama Elementary School Assistant Principal. “Eli cares about his goals, academics and well-being. Beyond that, Eli cares about others and cares about his school. Whether it is in the hall, cafeteria, recess, or class, Eli is always spotted doing the right thing, being a good friend, and helping others.
“Recently, Eli was asked to help with our PBIS expectations fair project,” she continued. “He didn't hesitate and helped with a smile. You could ask any staff member about Eli, and they will all say ‘what a great kid.’”
Another educator described Eli as funny, kind and hard working, adding that he is accepting of others, brings a great deal to discussions in class, and perseveres to learn.
“He has a great personality and extremely positive attitude,” Fechter shared during the board meeting on behalf of Eli’s 5th Grade teacher. “He comes in every day ready to learn and work. He asks for help when needed, and works to the best he can every day. If you were to ask students who is a good friend for you, they would say Eli. Eli is reliable and dependable for everyone.”
Congratulations on a well-deserved recognition, Eli!
