Girl playing golf

For the first time in school history, Kalama High School will offer a Boys Soccer program. The Kalama School Board voted to establish the program during its board meeting on Monday, November 25.

In addition to Boys Soccer, a Girls Golf team is also in development, marking an exciting new chapter in Kalama School District Athletics. Both teams will launch this spring, with registration now open on FinalForms.

“This is a monumental step for our school,” said Kalama Athletic Director Brandon Walker. “We’ve seen incredible interest in forming both of these teams from our students and families, and we’re thrilled to provide this opportunity for them to engage, compete, and create lasting memories.”

Interested families are encouraged to register as soon as possible. For boys soccer, the number of participants will determine whether both junior varsity and varsity teams will be offered.

The introduction of Boys Soccer and Girls Golf highlights the district’s ongoing commitment to broadening opportunities for students, giving them more ways to stay active, build community, and represent the Chinooks with pride.

“This is an exciting time for Kalama High School Athletics,” said Heidi Bunker, Kalama High School principal. “These new teams reflect the growing interests of our students and the dedication of our district to meet those interests. We can’t wait to see these programs flourish.”

The spring sports season will kick off in mid-March.
