Beginning this summer, the state of Washington will launch a new Summer EBT program called SUN Bucks. The program will provide families with $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy food when school is out.
Enrolled students who are approved for free/reduced-price meals will automatically become eligible for SUN Bucks. If your student is not currently eligible for meal benefits, but your family may qualify, now is the time to apply by submitting a completed Free & Reduced Meals application to the District Office (548 China Garden Rd., Kalama, WA 98625).
SUN Bucks will be issued beginning mid-June through the end of August 2024. Once qualified, families will receive an approval notice and SUN Bucks EBT card within 7 to 10 business days via U.S. Mail. SUN Bucks benefits expire 122 days from issuance.
