Hadestown: Teen Edition by Anais Mitchell

Description:

Its a sad song! But we're gonna sing it anyway! Hadestown: A modern adaption of the Greek tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice is a show that you are not going to want to miss! Adapted by Anais Mitchell, the story of Orpheus and Eurydice is a tale we have heard before. One of love and loss. Orpheus, the son of a Muse, a god of song, is bound up his obsession over this song that he is perfecting. All the while, the love he has for a mortal girl, Eurydice is thrown to the wayside as the elements end up claiming her. She finds herself caught in the middle between the god of the Underworld and the goddess of the seasons: Hades and Persephone. Orpheus, Eurydice, Hades and Persephone thus are all victims to Fate and time as we all are. The sad reality of Greek mythology is that we are all too human, and our vices become the tragedy we must all suffer. Set to the tone of the turn of the 20th century, this adaption is a masterpiece of modern theatre.
